Chitchat.gg: The Update You've Been Waiting For

Chitchat.gg: The Update You've Been Waiting For

We have officially left Beta!

In our previous release, we introduced the foundation of what Chitchat.gg could be. But Version 1.0.0 is the realization of what we wanted it to be. We have overhauled the look, feel, and functionality of the platform to make your random chats smoother, safer, and more fun.

Here is a deep dive into the massive changes in Version 1.0.0. ✨

What are the new features and changes?

New UI: The first thing you’ll notice is the fresh look. We’ve moved away from the "Beta" aesthetic to a cleaner, more consistent interface that puts connection first.

feature-5

At first glance, you'll notice several new features. There's a completely new color scheme that is more consistent but still familiar.

The main screen has been fully reworked. It now displays trending interests and makes it easier and more accessible to select your own custom interests. You can easily toggle whether you want to use interests at all or just match with a random person right away.

You might have also noticed that the gender filter is now a prominent part of the screen, no longer hidden as before. This change was made because many users had difficulty finding the setting, especially if they didn't have a premium subscription.

Tips: Another small but helpful addition is the presence of tips under the message field. We have included plenty of helpful guiding tips to enhance everyone's chatting experience on our website. These tips cover topics such as how to interact with each other, how to report users, how to stay safe, and occasionally mention useful features, our Discord Server, and our Blog.

Profile Pictures: We have replaced our generic and randomized "Blob" profile pictures with a new feature that allows users to add their own customized profile pictures. This feature is available to all users, regardless of their subscription status. However, please note that all profile pictures undergo manual review by our team to ensure safety and prevent the use of inappropriate content.

Messages: Make chatting fun again! We understand how embarrassing those pesky spelling mistakes can be. Now, you can edit messages and pretend they never happened! And if things get really bad, you can even delete them. 😉 Not only that, if you're dealing with someone who sends multiple texts in a row, the chat can get a bit chaotic. Just select a message to reply to and keep the conversation organized! With all this fun, let's not forget about safety. You now have the option to report individual messages if you believe they shouldn't be on Chitchat.gg. You can access all of these amazing features by hovering over the message on PC/Desktop or by long-pressing the message on Mobile.

Here’s a look:

feature-1

Emoji and Gif Picker: Yes, you read that correctly. Express yourself even more by sending emojis and gifs to your match partners. This enhances the natural flow of conversations and adds more fun for everyone! You can find both options in the message field, right next to the send button.

feature-2

Search for friends: If you’re one of those people that has a long friend list, it can be difficult to find a specific friend just by scrolling. That's why this feature will come in handy - you can search for specific friends from your friend list!

feature-3

Swipeable drawer for mobile: We understand that many of our users primarily use Chitchat.gg on their mobile devices. With this in mind, we have developed swipeable drawers specifically for you. What does this mean? When using Chitchat.gg on your mobile device, you can swipe right to access the Chat/DM and Friend List menus, just like on the desktop version where they are found on the main screen.

New Settings: We have added a new settings dialog with a wider range of options and preferences, allowing you to customize your chatting experience even further. We recommend exploring the available settings and finding the ones that suit your preferences!

feature-4

Other subtle changes and bug fixes: We understand that bugs can be annoying for both our team and our users. We are dedicated to resolving any bugs we come across. If you encounter any bugs, we encourage you to report them either in our Discord Server (discord.gg/chitchat) or through the contact form on our website.

Coming up with new features, planning them, developing them, fixing bugs, and hearing your feedback all require a significant amount of time and effort. We are grateful for the users who stick around and enjoy using our website, Chitchat.gg, to chat and meet new people. Our users are our biggest motivation to work hard.

We hope you enjoy these features and have fun exploring them!
